Happy May Day!

Seriously, I can’t believe it’s May 1st already!  One-third of 2013 is gone.  Hey, TIME – you really need to slow down…

So what comes to mind for May — flowers of course!  And I have lots right in my front yard.  On this beautiful spring morning I spent a little time on our front patio admiring the lovely ones in our flower bed that Nathan planted.  So glad he has such a green thumb and likes gardening and landscaping.  I was reading a few pages from “The Rainy Day Book” that my mom picked up for me at a garage sale.  Who else loves garage sales?!  I came across this quote:

“Rain is grace; rain is the sky condescending to the earth; without rain, there would be no life.”

“There would be no life….”  Thank you, April showers, for helping to grow my enchantingly colorful flowers.  They do grace my day.

There are also 2 big trees in our front yard.  They provide lots of shade from the hot Arizona sun.  One of them has a bird’s nest and a hummingbird often stops by to visit.  I’m going to buy a feeder; I hope he (or she) will want  to stay.  Zorro and I are going for a walk.  Escaping for a few minutes into the serenity of nature does one’s body, and spirit, a world of good.

I am thankful for rain… and flowers… and trees… and a whole multitude of other lovely things that grace each day.  It’s springtime; it’s May 1st – an absolutely perfect day to enjoy and appreciate these abundant and beautiful gifts!!
